Maggie the Yogi

Welcome, friends. If you’re here, you’ve taken the first step toward a deeper understanding of what a personal yoga practice can do for your life.
Yoga has made me physically strong. My core strength at 36 is lightyears ahead of what it was as a teenage competitive athlete. I can arm balance and stand on my hands. I can stand on my head for a solid five minutes. But, all of this strength is only a fraction of what I’ve gained on my yoga journey. If you’ve been around a yoga space, or in community with people who live a yogic lifestyle, you may have heard someone say “it’s not about the postures!” Sometimes, hearing this for the thousandth time makes me want to roll my eyes, because OF COURSE yoga isn’t about the postures. The postures are merely a tool- one of Patanjali’s 8 Limbs of Yoga. Yoga is a system of ancient wisdom designed to put you in harmony with both your inner and outer world. Through gentle guidance, consistent effort, and earnest enthusiasm, you can use yoga to better yourself and the world around you. Allow me to be your guide.
